The Inspiration behind this video:

The returning original emotions in Inside Out are faced with new complicated and mature emotions in Inside Out 2, which could paint the newcomers such as Maya Hawke's Anxiety as the antagonists of the film. The incoming adolescent emotions such as Anxiety, Embarrassment, Envy, and Boredom all have a connotation of being undesirable in the new movie. Given how thoughtfully crafted Inside Out was in its handling of sensitive themes, Mann, LeFauve, and Pixar will most likely be painted in a nuanced, sophisticated light despite being introduced as the "bad" emotions.

In the trailer, Anxiety literally "bottles up" the original emotions including Joy, implying that as Riley ages and matures closer to adulthood, the more advanced emotions will aim to take over her childhood sensibilities and feelings. Joy and the original crew of emotions will apparently look to fight against the impending mature emotions as a brilliant metaphor for losing one's youthful innocence and autonomy. Anxiety seems to be the leader of the new pack of emotions which could be Joy's biggest challenge in Inside Out 2.

If they won't resurrect Bing Bong, I hope they'll at least put a similar death (preferably of a villain character), in the second one. Because there's this "tradition" of making duologies with at least one death in the first movie and none in the second. I hope this won't be the case.

I love how Happiness' first reaction to a new emotion was to put herself at front of the other emotions to protect them. It's like she's now a leader but in a good way instead of a bad one on the first film

So for characters in Inside Out 2, we got Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, Fear, Envy, Embarrassment, Anxiety, The Mind workers, Riley, Riley's Parents' emotions, and Riley's Parents. Nice!
