This is the first in a series of six short animated films about the importance of good hydration in keeping care home residents happy and healthy. The award-winning Good Hydration! structured drinks round initiative is helping reduce cases of urinary tract infection and ensuring that older people need fewer antibiotics and less time in hospital.

The key messages in this video are:
• Our bodies need fluids to work properly
• The kidneys are the body’s filtration system
• The kidneys monitor blood pressure and stop us feeling dizzy
• The other parts of the urinary system are ureters, bladder and urethra
• Women are more likely to develop a urinary tract infection
