Dragon's Heart Guitar picks are extremely durable and fast due to their innovative shape and the polyamide-imide used in their construction.

This aerospace grade material is known for its high strength and abrasion resistance, as well as its low friction coefficient.

The material can either be mixed with carbon graphite for extra lubricity, or glass fiber for superior strength.

Check out the Dragon's Heart website for full details on the products and perhaps buy a coupe for your collection:

Doesn't matter how indestructable they are.... I'm gonna lose them within a day anyway.

Colin, maybe set up a guitar string, probably wound,  on a nail and tuner, get it to tension and use some type of machine to strike the string a few thousand times. I think that would be one of the most relevant test in regards to guitar playing. I mean, we're not going to cook our guitar picks, or drag them behind a car or some thing.

Also some type of fire test because... well fire is awesome.

I use dragon's blood to finish some my guitars. Dries really quick and locks out moisture well. It IS indestructible so you won't have to worry about wear if you want it to look the same long after you die. However, if you want to remove it, the only way to do so would be to cut the wood away beneath it to scoop it out. As a result if you finish necks with it, then it will lock your set up in place forever, for better or for worse. Only comes in the one deep red color, but if light hits it the right way, it has this weird sparkle to it. Plus the finish, while very flammable burns very coolly, so you can set your guitar on fire on stage while playing it and not destroy the guitar or burn to death in the process. The stuff is damn expensive since most dragons fled the Earth into space before the dawn of mankind, but you can still catch some blood on ebay or craigslist once every few thousand years.

Sometimes if you play at 20, 000 bpm speed your hand catches fire, and I've been having a tough time finding a flame resistant pick. How long does it last while on fire?

I bought a few of these picks. I was never a super fan of thick picks but these are great and use them exclusively now and I never went back to thin picks. I have a hard time "picking" between the Pure and Harden, both sound and feel great. The company makes some cheaper ones called Faux Dragon Hearts you can find on Amazon which are...ok, but they feel like something that comes with an accessory for a board game. They are not the same so don't be fooled. However, I buy a few of those cheaper ones to hand out to people if I'm playing with someone and they forgot their picks or just want to try the shape in general. The high end ones are the best and worth every penny, don't buy the Faux ones unless your just want to give them to people as a cheap gift or just have loaners you don't care about getting back.

This video convinced me to get one all those years ago and i still use the same pick to this day, 2, 000+ play and hours 8 years later and it has virtually no noticeable wear, i got the “gt” model which is supposedly harder than the normal brown ones, i can barely use a normal pick without cringing nowadays

Remake Paul Gilberts guitar pick electric drill with 3 picks. Use a Dragon Heart, a Tortex and a Stubby (or whatever you like) and then let them go to town on a low E string for about 5 minutes. This way all 3 picks will receive the same amount of pick strokes (give or take a few) and you can compare the damage. Granted they'll be much thicker than the ones Mr Gilbert uses but then do the experiment on a cheap strat from Cash Converters or something.

I bought one of the Pures a few years ago after watching this video (4 or 5 I think). I have been daily driving with it since. I play guitar for church twice a month and semi-rigorously semi-regularly between those times. It still plays and sounds awesome. There might be a little flattening on the main tip (middle action) but I have to strain to see anything. I definitely notice a difference of tone and comfort when using other picks. Somehow I haven't lost it (even though I've lost nearly all the other picks I don't regularly use). IMO, you can't beat these picks.

holy crap, I was kind of skeptical at first by after hearing them on the acoustic guitar, I can actually hear a huge difference in the sound!

CSG, on 04:54, are you talking about only holding the pointed edge of the dragon heart pick or holding the pick in general? I'm confused. so you hold the pick with the pointed edge sticking out always or what?

Have you tried the GT ones yet. I ordered one about a month ago and love it. Not a big fan of the hardness of it though. May order an original for my metal rifting and a pure for my blues, jazz, country, and acoustic work.

I gave these away as prizes for contests on my guitar group, they are great.

Do you have a video about keeping the pick from sliding around in your hand?  Even rubber or coarse grip picks tend to slip around in my grip when I'm getting sweaty or I've been playing for a while.

Also, about testing your picks, I would scrape it against the shaft of a nail (preferably rusted or rough), a nickel wound string, or even some brushes against sandpaper for a few minutes.  For the nail and heavy E string (I'm assuming this would be your choice), I would do it in a scrubbing motion getting progressively faster and more aggressive motion creating heat and wear... giggity.  Sandpaper is your call.  This would simulate actual pick usage a little better than, say, hammering a nail through it or setting it on fire.

The shape is almost a dead ringer for a tiger shark tooth except with no striations. I play bass and am thinking of trying these out after watching your video. I need something that lasts and has the right feel and sound. Great video.

I'm thinking about getting the newer GT model because I want a mix of originals speed with hardened life and tone

thanks to you i just ordered a three pack with the original, the hardened and the GT. I'm most keen of trying the hardened since i'm playin Black metal mostly.

Funny you mention that when playing with the pointed end, you find it best to hold it so the point faces away from your hand. I find holding it the other way around, so the point faces inward, gives me the better/smoother attack. I suppose it goes to show that these picks offer even more playing options.
