Natural speaking rhythm.

Oh my god, I'm Nepalese and after seeing this video just realized our most common musical rhythm is actually a 3:2 polyrhythm.

something about having physics embedded into the visuals, seeing it go up the parabole and then down again, makes the learning more intuitive (for me at least). almost as if a beat is not only the hit but also the wait for that hit

This is the easiest polyrhythm to play so a good one to start with. E.g. to tap it out with two hands just use the rhythm
1, 2 & 3
as
1. Both together
2. left
&. right
3. left

and you have just tapped 3/4 in your left hand over 2/4 in your right hand. However you probably feel the 3/4 is the main beat when you first try it, if you do it that way.

You want to do itry to do it so that you feel that each hand beats its own rhythm steadily and independently.

I’ve literally struggled with this for YEARS even though I’m playing close to a professional level, and this helped me figure it out!

Thanks this is really helpful. I figure that jazz waltzes are usually played like this. I will put in on infinite looper until I can feel it deep in the gut.

@FlyingVshredz Yes, that's called a "polymeter". Actually, coincidentally I've just been adding polymeters to Bounce Metronome and will upload a bunch of videos of them soon - I plan a new "Polymeters" entry in the main window drop down.

I’ve noticed that most of these videos sound really good at 1.5x speed
