HBX 901a -Delay issue - Due to BIG tires? Extreme Durability Testing

The 901a gets its second set of wheels put on it. The second set didn’t add much benefit over the first so we stepped it up a notch or two.
The problem is, there is an extremely annoying delay in the response time of the truck. Sometimes acting a second or two after controlling, and sometimes even worse. Definitely makes for difficult controlling and more potential for damage. Overall, these tires helped with ground and air control.

I’ve got this crazy idea … what do think of Rc Cornhole?😝 seriously wicked bash brother! Maybe you need a higher KV motor or slightly lower gearing on this stock motor. Something that will give you quicker wheel speed. Insane video my bro’s! Always great to watch!👊🏼💯⚡️👊🏼💯🤙🏽

One question brother do you think the front driver shafts on this one will fit in the 2995 bcuz I only can find parts for hbx 901a I would appreciate if you can find out for me I'm saying bcuz you have both of them, , , thanks 🙏👍

It's the receiver the stock redcat 16 does the same exact thing since it's basically the same truck with different branding.and the oversized tires over works the esc making it go into limp mode and the tires are the reason u killed the front diff

Sound like the massive tires cause the motor big to draw huge amount of current. So the esc goes in some kind of overload protection state.

yeah, that tires is too big for the truck itself, you should gear lower if you want to put that bigger tires. Also try higher Kv motor and better esc

Duratrax Picket ST tires on my 901a woke it up! I tried a few different Injora tires but the Picket ST have a heavier dense foam and made all the difference in air control.

Also the ESC does NOT like 3s at all. It tweaks it out and eventually does permanent damage. Found that out the hard way too.
