(infant eczema)

Eczema or atopic dermatitis in babies. It can show up as crusty, flaky patches on the baby's skin, often during their first few months. It is common and treatable.
In babies with light skin, it usually shows up as patches of red skin. In darker-skinned babies, the rash might look purplish, brownish, or grayish. These patches are almost always dry, itchy, and rough.

Causes:
- Genetics: Runs in families.
- Defects in the skin barrier: Allow moisture out and germs in.
