Awesome idea . I´ll try to do this here in Brazil too.
But whats the size of your mating nucs?
Here i have about 50 but all mine are half size of a Langstroth hive (5 frames each)
I also dont know if my AHBs would accept a mating nuc with fewer bees but i´ll try. How many frames do you usually use on your mating nucs?

Thought about something like this   I was thinking of a shallow/medium frame cut at 6" in a 6 frame NUC with a feeder behind it.  This way I can just use a cup of bees in the mating NUC.
