I fully admit that Honkai's skin are on a whole another level compared to Genshin.
edit: reminder to the replies both games are worked by the same company, both share the same "dimension." lore wise and have different mechanics so comparing them is useless, skin is but a luxury, if you afford it go for it if you don't want it no biggies who cares in the end it is just a game, how about you all put that energy on doing your laundry instead.

In Genshin, we also need to wait 6 months for every skin patch. And good luck with Mihoyo choosing to pick your favorite characters to get a skin. At least with Honkai, even unpopular characters are thrown a bone. It's been almost 3 years of my welkin crystals collecting dust because none of my faves got a skin in Genshin. Seriously, the devs could at least put different color palette skins in Genshin's BP like Honkai does if they're so afraid of releasing more original skins. At least it'd give me a reason to buy BP again lol

One thing I love about gacha games are their skins, and as a honkai player, I love how much time and effort goes into theirs. I love genshin so I hope they'll take skins just as serious as honkai someday.

Comparing Diluc's outfit would make more sense, as in it changed visual effects, voice lines and sound effects, BUT, it costs the most 🗿

Main difference is that in Honkai, the paid skins come with a entirely different battle effects theme. In Genshin, it is basically just a graphic overlay on their CAD model.

Let this be known that Honkai “4 stars” character also have cooler outfit with effects too. Some of them are free from event as well.

Ayaka's skin is comparable to B-Chip skins. You should campare it with Diluc's skin.

I think the best part about Honkai skins is that even paid outfits can be available for f2p players at around the 2 years mark as an option for the crystal spending event or by the pink outfit tickets during a time capsule event.

Also, to be fair this is the Gacha skin for Elysia, but our pyramid skin is pretty worth considering we can get S-rank, 5 supply cards, and other useful mats with it so it evens out in value. B-chips outfits are pretty good too majority of the time, I still love Kasumi’s skin as a b-chip fave.

To be fair, pyramid outfits in honkai are a TON of gems and if you're actively pulling current characters, they're not really free to play. I'd also say Honkai in general is more visually stunning than genshin for skills and animations.

My opinion is that Genshin is the "Safe" game where they don't go crazy with the outfits, story, or powercreep; but Honkai is much more experimental and exciting, and a lot of characters show skin, but Genshin they censored several characters outfits already. I wish I played Honkai earlier, I tried starting last year and it's too hard to catch up to a game that's been out for like 6 years, but I think I may have like it more than Genshin (it's not bad, just kinda boring, so I have to force myself to explore sometimes).

As someone who plays Honkai competitively and tries to keep their crystals for valks and gear. I dont want to spend over 30 pulls on an outfit. I did it once for HoR Evangelion outfit and NEVER again

ngl they should add an extra level to reputation quests atleast for each region so we can go and get outfits of those places for traveler which could actually increase useage rate of traveler ngl
