I absolutely LOVE this setup! I have studied vermiculture extensively, and this is pure GENIUS!

I love that the worms "take in" the material (they don't actually eat the compost) to consume the bacteria. They squeeze it to crush them, and that passes things through their bodies, and then it is all expelled.

The super cool thing is that they do not crush all the bacteria. They get the nutrient dense contents of what does get squished, but those remaining reproduce inside the worm. And this is the super cool thing: They pass out MORE bacteria than they took in! And, they do not absorb all the squished out nutrients, which pass into the soil again, making it better.

The worms take material in with microbes, and pass material out with MORE microbes, AND a lot of dense nutrient material that your plants are going to LOVE.

Beautiful my brothas! Nothing I've seen compares to a PROPER vermi-worked extract-grade compost...either extracted OR brewed, depending on goals! Built a DIY one 4'X8' years ago - lotta work on my part - great to see this available commercially G's!

Just a observation here in the Dakota's as a kid I would pickup and sell worms after heavy rains, I remember being able to pickup and easily filling half of a five gallon bucket with worms, today it would be a struggle to fill a coffee cup. Has anyone else noticed this ? 10 years ago we setup up a 10k square foot back to Eden garden, after it was set up, we purchased 10k red wigglers, the are not indigenous to this area of the Dakota's they are not supposed to survive threw our harsh winters, but their eggs will, also from what I am seeing they are surviving in eden, and they are now every where around our garden and home, I've also used 55 gallon drums with no top or bottom that I fill with our food waist. These are also in the garden, just trying to create a hot spot in the garden for them and help them survive. But the wood chips help to keep the soil warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

I do worm composting on a smaller scale. In my small boxes I have so many worms and each spring I harvest buckets full of black gold.

Thanks for this info Billy! We need a bigger system but until now we haven’t seen anything as brilliant as this. We want to ramp up production and don’t have time to be sifting Vermicast through screens. This is definitely a “work smarter not harder” solution!

Billy, I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday. Tomorrow you will all be in the thick of it with the jamboree. Wish I could be there. So many of my favorite YT channel families there. I pray God blesses your all’s efforts and the event fills everyone’s spiritual tank for the next leg in the journey.

Wanting to have a much bigger one in a few years when i retire and have the space on our homestead.
Got my comfrey roots in the ground, and the free crown is taking off. 👍🏼

And, if you have a hand crank with the right socket size, you are completely off the grid! I need to get one of these!

I am in Central America. Can you advise me about using coffee pulp? We have mountains of it going to waste here. Thanks.

Hi. I'm not a Farmer at all but wanted to share an idea how to speed up composting. Use a blender.

Quick question. Would yard waste be too hot for the worms? If so, would it work better to let it break down before adding it, or should yard waste be composted separate?

In perfect environment (moisture, temperature and area) 2 red wigglers in 11 weeks will be 200 worms.
