I've had the opportunity to play Reverse: 1999 since it's release, and I couldn't get over how amazing the story was in this game. Just with first few chapters alone, it gives so many hints, clues, and foreshadowings about what will occur at the end of the story... But the problem is, it's still hard to see them coming. In this video, I will explain several hints and clues in the main story of Reverse: 1999 that really makes this game a one of a kind.

Another early minor hint in the dialogue about Schneider being a human is after Schneider got shot and Vertin secretly went to give her food, Schneider asked: “What is this you bring to me, my lord?” And Vertin proceeded to tell her that it is a cake left over from dinner. At the time we thought that Schneider was maybe simply too tired and injured to pay much attention to it. But after knowing she’s actually human, she legit don’t know that it was food, and so asked Vertin for confirmation.

The relief I felt when Schneider survived the gunshots but then the storm happened DAMN IT

They got me with the Schneider reveal. She's one of my favorite characters here along side Matilda and Sonetto. I wish we can turn back time and return to that era to save her. Assuming we can have Sotheby make a potion that saves non-arcanists from the Storm. Or a potion that can turn someone into half or full arcanist with Druvi's help.

One thing that caught my attention was Schneider’s sister.

First, she was fed truth serum. Which meant her captors wanted to know something from her.

Second, when she was first rescued, she stated that she will stop pretending to be an arcanist.

Third, Schneider’s weapon was ‘upgraded’ (as opposed to given) by Druvis. This could either mean Manus Vindictae upgraded the pistol which they gave her. Or, Schneider was already in possession of the pistol before working for Forget Me Not.

If we assume for a moment the latter was true, that means there’s another party that has not been introduced yet. The party that gave Schneider her pistol. And Schneider’s sister was being interrogated to find out how Schneider got it.

Both Schneider and her sister were lost to the Storm. But Druvis, having worked for Forget Me Not and ‘upgraded’ Schneider’s pistol, would be privy of the truth.

Druvis possesses significant intel on Manus Vindictae which has yet to be revealed.

The Vertin Jesus Theory is interesting. Arcana did say “Vertin, the saviour that people follow” and “Thou sacrifice thy body...”

I was amazed by the reveal. Schneider being human in the last part, the realization that she'll eventually be also swept by The Storm and not even ready to say goodbye. Her line to Vertin about not forgetting about her sunk a little deeper until the end. I thought we were gonna get her as a playable character in the future, but then that happened😭

even before this, Schneider ask what Vertin is giving her when Vertin is trying to give her cake. This was the how Schneider was tipped off that something is wrong with the "food" that she's seeing.

Tbh, I feel so burnout with Genshin, then I saw this game ads on YT and X. Never expected the story could be an S tier. Now I fall in love with Vertin. I'm currently on chapter 3. Pushing my character levels' day by day just to see how the next story would unfold. I really hope we can get its anime version by the next year.

i remember that the narrator once said in a chapter biological mother, ' stating Ms. Greco which we were told by Schneider that she was adopted. Man how much does the narrator knows😮

I decided to go back and rewatch the first few chapters and I agree very much with the Jesus—Vertin, there are so many Christianity motifs when you think about it and how they portray her in the story.

In the beginning when she dragged Regulus into her suitcase, she referred it an “ark.” Also don’t you think it’s a bit ironic that they jumped from the 1960s to the 1920s. That’s like 40 years ago—similar to 40 days and 40 nights.

She’s omnipresent, in the sense of she has been through so many time lines, the beginning and end. Like how God is describes as been everywhere and anywhere all at the same time.

As she opened up to regulus about storm, she mentioned all her failed efforts figuring out how to save her friends from the storm. Taking in that into an account, she might have to make an ultimate sacrifice like you said. One that may not be all colorful.


I need more lore on the summoning wheel. It’s odd that it’s two dimensional but what makes me think is that how it grabs or summon people from different timelines. The water around is described as water or the storm, im kinda analyzing that as the calm of the storm. Does that mean the people we summon are dead? But it doesn’t make sense because sonetto is alive? Idk. It does interest me tho, and it honestly reminds me of the sundial from genshin, the fact that they both utilize time motifs but one with air and one that flows like water.

Also I have a couple more questions. Is the same fog that surrounds the summoning wheel in question that made Regulus and Sonetto black out, the same one Forget me not or his caster was using to interfere with the gang progress of reaching Vertin?

Guys why was a scent of oranges from a mission given by the foundation to sonetto. Something is indeed fishy 😭

oh yeah, apparently, you can find Schneider's outfit in the "lobby menu" if you look at the left bottom, there's her folded dress with something that is glowing.

Narrator also does give some light on things early on, like when they mentioned Schneider is indeed a biological daughter of the Greco even though Forget Me Not mentioned she was adopted into the family, explains why Schneider's name was crossed off on Forget Me Not's list since he probably learned the truth from Marian with the truth serum.

yeah there are a lot of details hidden in the story! 2 parts I noticed after reading the 2nd time is that young schneider hesitated to answer when Vertin asks whether she is an arcanist + when Vertin passes Schneider some cake after finding her, Schneider asks Vertin what she is giving her (and she ate it without hesitation after hearing its cake 😢) Also spoilers for ver 1.1：

One thing worth considering is that this game is heavy on the idea of esoteric and the occult,
In fact at one point (I think during flashback in chapter 3) there is a professor that state that
"Arcanist, as a creature of feeling and passion value higher knowledge obtain through flash of intuition or 'Gnosis' rather than rationality and reason of science."
And in many Gnostic Christian tradition Judas is not a betrayer but rather he's the only one true disciple of Jesus.

The political drama in later chapters makes this world feels so alive. It's well done.

Hands down the best gacha story line I've ever seen. I really hope this game does well long term it deserves it.

Reverse: 1999 so far in my opinion is truly a unique game with it mind-blowing story that we have chance to play FREE in recent years, love this game and I hope you guys enjoy the game too
