You need a whole day to go through th garden, Dave. Back in the day, I had to leave after rush hour and back before rush hour. Japanese garden was my favorite along with the water garden.

Was in the Japanese garden just yesterday. Really enjoyed this year’s Midwest Bonsai show. You really got some great shots of this beautiful oasis in Chicago.

It's actually called the Chicago Botanic Garden. The core of the collection is trees donated by Susumu Nakamura of Yokahama Japan. More trees have since been added to the collection. The Midwest Bonsai Society has a show there on the third weekend of August every year.

Next time you head to Chicago pull off of I-90 at the E Riverside exit in Rockford and hit the Anderson Japanese Gardens- a full 12 acres of garden! Amazing garden that is over 50 years old.
