another disclaimer: this song took eight months to record. it was not pretty and required a lot of splicing. i recorded the majority of the main vocals yesterday over the harmonies left from 2022's version. the overlay effect i'm disclaiming is caused by my placing of many video takes on top of one another to show you that i definitely did not sing this in one take. i sang it in 120 takes, verse by verse, for the greater part of a year. all this to say, of all the songs i can sing for you live, this will never ever be one of them :,)

now that that's out of the way.

jeez you look so grown. how long has it been? five months or five years? hahahaha. okay

anyway after an eternity of fumbling around with this cover, i'm finally finished with it. in that time i completely lost all confidence in front of a camera and also lost all memory of how to edit. i hope that doesn't make this unwatchable. i know folks have been excited for this and i hope hope hope it lives up to your expectations. i'm a little insecure about it but i can't be apart from you any longer.

I absolutely love what you’ve done here and it’s easily the best cover I’ve heard of Mama. The vibes are so good. Like, I genuinely have chills and the almost cathedral like sound you’ve achieved with the layered vocals really adds to your performance. I honestly believe if My Chemical Romance come across this, they’ll be really proud of your version.
