I'm leaving next week for 3 weeks in Europe. I use packing cubes for organization, not compression. A cube for bras and underwear, a large cube for all my neatly folded clothes, a small cube for socks and PJ's, and a small cube for a change of clothes that goes in my personal item bag, that's it. I bought most of my cubes at Marshall's, so very inexpensive. I do prefer bags that zip open on 3 sides.

We are on a 3 week trip right now, I tried packing cubes out again and have to report I still hate them. I’ll put my underwear/socks in a cube and my clothes for dressing up but otherwise, no, I’m not using the cubes any more, they don’t work for me. I’m spending all my time digging around trying to find stuff and my shirts are hopelessly wrinkled. I know how you pack a suitcase more efficiently and with fewer wrinkles without cubes. I understand some love them and I’m glad they have found something that makes them happy but it’s not me

Put your shoes in grocery bags, you’ve got a zillion in your house and then you don’t have to spend $$ on a specialized, little used item
