honestly a life saver. I was really scared after I tried every single password and could not get in. Thank you so much Robert.

Shift+Restart from the Login screen brings up the repair menus. You can get to cmd from there. If the admin account does not display in the login screen, you can edit the registry from cmd.

You saved my butt! I had to call Microsloth to figure out where my BL Key was but once I got that I was able to follow all the steps and boom I am back into my local account. I appreciate!

dude i could fucking kiss you. this has been making me tear my hair out for over 18 months (i've picked it up, got frustrated and basically had a very expensive rock sitting in my study for that long). for those who had my issue where windows wanted me to put my password in before i could go into command prompts (ugh) the only way i finally got it to work was to have the windows installation on a usb, boot into that but then go repair my pc, then troubleshoot and command prompts, then follow above for copying command prompts instead of ease of access. and following the rest of the tutorial from there.
just omg, I really didnt want to lose all my files and you've saved me from that im so grateful

Hey Robert Mayer,
I just want to say thank you so much for this tool ! I locked myself out of my computer of course and searched on YouTube for what to do I tried a couple different videos of other users and nothing worked so I called around and went to a couple places asking if they could do it and got quoted 300$ +
I ended up coming back home thinking I was going to have to remember the password regardless of how long it took. I ended up looking on YouTube again and came across your video .
It worked . I’m logged into my user . I added the second user and switched the settings on mine to not be admin and then changed the password in control panel so a couple extra steps just to save my account . Again thank you so much because I did not think I’d be back on it right now .
I appreciate that you have this information out for people to download free . I think it’s crazy that you offer this and help people out and yet companies charge crazy money . Unless that’s only where I’m from in ottawa Ont. regardless, thank you and I hope me subscribing to your Chanel helps you out !

Stay safe

Thanks so much for this video! I was locked out of using stuff on my PC period. Sound wasn't working, Windows key wasn't responding, couldn't open file explorer and because my PC was tricked into thinking I wasn't an admin, I couldn't reset my PC . But thanks to you showing off the command to enable built in admin I was able to do so and restore my pc

Thanks man 👍🏻👍🏻! I was gifted a old Toshiba c-55a with windows 8 from a family member who forgot the password and no longer had any use for it. Backdooring the system32 to run “net user administrator /active:yes” then restart was perfect. I was then able to login under the new “administrator” account and make changes to the pc. I was even able to access said family members files through the hard drive “users” folder and ultimately delete the account all together and make the PC all mine. Cheers🍻

Many thanks. You saved my a lot of work rebuilding a PC! I did have a late version of Windows 10 Pro and I was still able to do it without any hitches.

Holy shit dude. Thank you so much! You literally saved all my local files and everything. Was so close to just fabric reset my pc. Worked on Win11 Pro. I was locked out of my own pc when i disabled admin account without doing my user local account to admin you again!!! I guess i have learned from my laughable mistake

U saved my ass on windows 10 home, what i did was, I followed your instructions up until your instructions talk about restoring the account. I only have windows 10 HOME. so what i did was once i was in the administer account i pressed shift+restart, selected system restore, restored to 3 days prior to my screw up deleting a user account, my computer restarted and restored successfully. and my user was restored with everything back to normal!!!

Thank you Rob: A quick comment for Windows Home (per your comment - I was helping a friend) the Snap-In pswd change doesn't work ... The error prompt says to use the Control Panel, which does work! This was the 4th YouTube technique I was attempting & this worked!
