FEATURED WINES & CHEESES
...............................................................................
Umani Ronchi Verdicchio di Jesi | Sale $16.99
Marche, Italy
A gem from the under-appreciated Marche region in Italy. The wine offers exceptionally pure aromas of spring flowers, yuzu, fresh cut grass, and crushed limestone. It’s lightweight, tart, and fresh. Contact with its own yeast during fermentation and in the aging process gives this Verdicchio properties of richness and personality without altering its balance and elegance and without oak influence. You might even mistake it for a Macôn white burgundy. Pair with chicken piccata, pan seared halibut, and fresh cheeses. Organic. 91pts—James Suckling

Palivou "Anemos" Moshofilero | Price $17.99
Peloponnesos, Greece
Moschofilero is a delightful Greek varietal that is a relative of the muscat grape. It is vinified dry, but it is beautifully aromatic. There is also Roditis blended in which gives the wine texture. The nose is fruity and expressive with notes of rose petal, pink grapefruit, pineapple, and peach pulp. On the palate it is lean, light, and refreshing, with lingering flavors of tropical fruit. A great aperitif wine, it pairs well with citrus salads, lox with cream cheese and capers, and shrimp cocktail. Organic.

Palivou Agiorgitiko | Sale Price $22.99
Nemea, Greece
This single vineyard wine from Nemea, Greece is 100% Agiorgitiko, and has a similar flavor profile to Barolo for those who aren't familiar with this Greek varietal. It is full bodied with rich pronounced tannins that yearn to be paired with aged and salty cheeses, or red meat like lamb. Heady aromas of dark black cherries, plum sauce, vanilla, and chocolate emerge from the glass. On the palate, the dark fruit profile is accented by notes of black pepper and nutmeg. The finish is long and dry. This wine would benefit from an hour of decanting to smoothen and integrate the tannins. Organic.
