Should you use F Log on FujiFilm when making Videos

We have created comparison video between Fujifilm video simulation and f-log to check is it worth it. See in video side by side comparison. We focused on exposure settings being the same between the cameras. It was rather difficult to colour correct the videos together as Fujifilm simulations are very unique and video is not about that, rather detail preserved. Unfortunately for some reason the camera on the left was a lot softer which we need to investigate why. If you look at the shadows and highlights - you can see the comparison of log profile nevertheless.

Thank you for the comparison. I now know I don't like F-Log recording and have switched it off. I'm sure it must have a use somewhere, but personally I prefer Fujifilm's colour profile.

In the shot where she is about to walk into the tunnel (underpass) around 2:51 if you look at the sunlit wall at the far end of the tunnel you can see that the in-camera profile on the right is totally blown out, while the F-Log on the left still retains about two stops of highlights. Also the F-Log is much more yellow and magenta than the in-camera profile (might just be the color correction). Also look at the highlights in the hair at the top of her head around 1:43 and again you can see the benefit of shooting in log.

In the clip where she is walking into the tunnel the highlights in the white on the right hand image are blown out, on the shot of the ceiling there is only small but noticeable difference in the detail retained in the image but good comparison

What editing software did you use to F log videos..Can i use FCPX..

FUji's log is very good. just dont use it at night as all logs and not crank exosure more then +1, there will be too much highlights in shadows
