Biplanes also generally have more limited visibility for the pilot. These are specialized aircraft, too slow & fuel inefficient for many uses. Yet they do shine when in their zone of particular effectiveness.

The only reason biplane was invented is becuse at the time they could not build a strong enough wing, a biplane wing is far easier to make strong. A monoplane single wing plane is very dificult to make string enough to lift a plane into the air. After matterials and engineering improved wing strength a biplane wing is is no longer required...
