"Learn to Fly the Tundra Way" with the Prime Tundra PT1200. This is yet another addition to the extremely popular Tundra series of STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) airplanes from Durafly, but this one is aimed primarily, but not exclusively at the novice. The PT1200 is the perfect STOL trainer for those that want to get into this style of flying, as it inherits the excellent STOL flying characteristics of the Tundra lineage, it's also a lot of fun for seasoned Tundra fans to!

The PT1200 is the most stable Tundra to date even without a gyro but coupled with the pre-installed ORX 3-axis gyro it is taken to another level. The gyro has 3 settings, gyro off, gyro on, and training mode. In the training mode, the gyro gives full stability and also limits the amount of roll and pitch that can be used. In gyro on mode, this gives slightly less aided stability and does not limit the roll or pitch that can be used. In gyro off mode, it is exactly that, no gyro at all. The PT1200 is the perfect choice for a very first RC airplane due to its rugged and simple lightweight construction in EPO foam, and the fast, easy assembly which does not require any gluing. But, the main reason is because of its superb, and very benign handling characteristics, making it the most stable and sedate of the Tundra family up to now.

The PT1200 is supplied with the exact same tried and tested big wheels from the original Tundra which makes them perfect for every type of surface, be it a runway or a mountain track. This, with the large flaps, makes the PT1200 a very versatile aircraft, and that versatility extends to the wing mounting system too. It is supplied with a choice of a 'Bolt-on, or Band-on' wing mounting option, band on wings have always been considered the best option for training.

This version of the Prime Tundra is supplied PNF (Plug N Fly), it comes complete with the 3-Axis ORX gyro, motor, ESC, and 6 digital servos pre-installed at the factory. Also supplied are the propeller, and an accessory pack, you will just need to supply your own transmitter, receiver, flight battery, and a flight battery charger.

So if you are looking at starting RC model flying then look no further than the PT1200, it is a perfect choice. But also, the PT1200 is a fantastic sports aerobatic/STOL plane with a flight envelope that will appeal to the most discerning pilot. Learning to fly has just become a lot more fun for novices and their instructors with the Prime Tundra.

Once you have enjoyed flying your PT1200 on the land, then why not try the optional float set. If you have never flown a model off of water before, and have never experienced the pure joy and fun of doing so, then the Prime Tundra PT1200 is the perfect model to get your water wings with! The supplied Aerostar 30A RVS ESC has a reverse function which is specifically designed to aid the handling on the water. It does require an extra channel for this on your radio, but with just a flick of a switch, the motor will go into reverse.

Very nice well rounded model. I love the fact it comes with flaps. Pretty hard to find a RTF with flaps. Not a bad price point either. Your lad done well especially for a 6yr old. That's fantastic. I may have to get one this spring.

That looks like a very nicely thought out model. At our club are looking at how we go about training new members, and this looks like a the type of model we could recommend. That said I know we have instructor’s who are very anti stability system. I think they have their place, especially when the students want to practice when the instructors are not available. I like the look of simplicity with your system setup, which is what I think has put some some instructors off in the past, trying to figure out what the system is doing, and when. How if we had a UK distribution you could on to a winner 👍🏻😀
