No More War was the song we saved for the hana hou the night we recorded the live album. It’s not one we do often, but when we do it always hits hard. Reggie and Jon have a really nice section of improv in the middle on the piano and bass in what I refer to as the “dream sequence”. When I wrote this song many years ago, sometimes I would see a bunch of military guys in the crowd and shy away from playing it because I didn’t want anyone’s feelings to get hurt. Slowly I started just trying it out in those situations, and I found it was the military guys that would come and thank me for this song after the show. That always validated the truth in these lyrics for me. I wrote this song for my brothers and sisters in the military. Bring the troops back home!
