Ewan and Hayden Comment on Prequel Hate Finally - Kenobi

I think this video is more important than some of my others. I believe it's important to always be respectful to fellow Star Wars fans regardless of your opinion. I've been a fan for almost my whole life, and I have seen all types of infighting in this emotional fandom. Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor open up about the backlash that Star Wars got during the prequel era. I believe this played into some reasons for George Lucas selling Lucasfilm to Disney.

I feel so bad for Hayden Christensen, he had to wait so long to finally be appreciated. I always loved him as Anakin and I like to think that it's not just because I grew up with these movies that I like them.

The prequels are the reason why I love Star Wars. The costumes, Shakespeare vibes, Palpatine being a genius manipulator, awesome lightsaber duels, and the music were all amazing to the story!

There is literally NONE other movie with a scenario case like the anakin/vader transformation. Hayden did excellent job.

Let’s be honest: the prequels weren’t perfect. Nevertheless I love them. They are my childhood and I enjoy watching them. Those movies were meant to entertain kids, and they accomplished that. The prequels, in my opinion, are amazing.

I think for most people, it really took the Clone Wars to get them to appreciate the prequels. "Revenge of the Sith" is, in my opinion, the best Star Wars movie (Jedi is my favorite, but Sith is a close second!!). I met Hayden last fall and he was absolutely the SWEETEST. His line was SO LONG, so that shows how much people care to meet him! 😭❤️

I’m just now finding out that people hated on the prequels… yes, like many others I was born during 1999 and grew up with these movies, but after rewatching them as I grow up;

watching Anakin’s story brings tears into my eyes. i’m watching a young man who I can relate with… the young Skywalker isn’t perfect, nothing he ever does will feel like it’s good enough… Anakin walked in some shoes that no man ever wanted to fill, and this tragic story might not be appealing to everyone, but this is the worst case scenario when a great man falls down the wrong path. I’m proud of Hayden Christensen, he’s a man I look up to with respect.

I was friends with Jake and even hanged out several times. He tell me how fans would blame him and even as far as harass him over Star Wars. I can tell being around him he was paranoid about people around. It’s sad that Star Wars fans can be so mean. Jake always mentioned how young he was and he did exactly what Lucas wanted him to do.

Anakin has had the best character development out of anyone in the skywalker saga. And Hayden Christensen played the role in a way that showed just how much Anakin's mindset developed throughout the movies. You can see his reaction to everything that's happening, and then his response to what's happening also changes.

I grew up with the originals, and caught the prequels in my early 20’s. The prequels weren’t masterpieces, but they felt like Star Wars. Good enough for me to watch them 3 times each, in the theaters. Actually I saw Revenge of the Sith 5 times on the big screen.😂Can’t say the same for the Disney sequels. For me, Star Wars will always be episodes 1-6.

I remember as a kid the prequels were so good. I always envisioned myself as young Anakin and felt it was totally cool to finally get it all revealed since prior to that it was all a mystery. Episode 2 was dope since we got Coruscant and so many iconic locations and three was just the climax. It’s absolutely insane that George Lucas was bullied into selling the franchise. It’s totally different to dog on some director that was hired compared to “the guy” who made the thing.
