With 2024 over, who are the season's ultimate winners and losers? Let's go!

The 2024 F1 season has delivered its share of thrills, heartbreaks, and jaw-dropping moments, and we're breaking down the biggest winners and losers! Ferrari fans have reason to celebrate as Charles Leclerc had his best season yet, leading the Scuderia back to form with a historic Monaco win and a new partnership with Lewis Hamilton set to shake up 2025. McLaren’s Lando Norris also shone brightly, finishing second in the drivers’ standings and proving that the future of F1 is in good hands, even as team errors cost them a shot at the Constructors' title. Meanwhile, Pierre Gasly showcased resilience, ending Alpine’s tumultuous year on a high, and veterans like Nico Hülkenberg and Fernando Alonso continued to defy expectations with stellar performances.

But not everyone had a season to remember. Lance Stroll’s struggles raised questions about his future in F1 amidst rising competition from talented rookies. At Williams, Logan Sargeant’s underwhelming performance contrasted with standout moments from his replacement Franco Colapinto, leaving fans wondering about the team’s direction. Mercedes showed glimpses of hope, but their 2024 campaign highlighted the need for long-term changes as they gear up for a new era. With plenty of drama, unexpected twists, and hints of what’s to come, the F1 grid is gearing up for an even more competitive 2025. Don’t miss out on this ultimate recap of all the action, insights, and controversies that shaped the season!

Stroll hasn’t looked happy for years now, I hope he leaves soon and find something he enjoys.

Horner should have been included in the Losers section: extending Perez's contract, the investigation, losing the constructors, the is he/isn't he (Perez) being canned mid season, is he/isn't he (Perez) being canned after the season, all the BS about who will replace Perez, etc. Horner has essentially created a toxic situation at Red Bull this season.

Not only Gasly overwhelmingly impressed, but this was his highest scoring driver points in his entire career!

Thanks for a great 2024 Law! You're one of the best channels I found this year, and your insight has been amazing!

Lando was a huge winner despite what people on social will say. Dude went from no wins to fighting with max for the championship. He also lead McLaren to a championship! Yeah he was a bit emotional but it’s what he needed to do get more wins. Even after his first win I think he said something about being more serious and more competitive which may have translated to being emotional to some people. But as soon as he was out of the championship race he was back to acting like he did before his first win. BIG W for Lando for improving a lot this year and taking that leadership role

Argentine fan here, so expect a bit of bias:
I think that one of the biggest winners of the season is, without a doubt, Franco Colapinto. In less than a year, he climbed the ladder from F3 to being quite successful in F2, to managing to drive a couple of races in F1, winning points in his first races without having the luxury of testing his car. He became quite known (especially here in Argentina), managed to get the backing of some major sponsors from huge Argentine companies (Mercado Libre, Globant, to name a few), and there is now a possible move to Alpine. Yes, he had a lot of crashes in the last races with a banged-up Williams; however, in my slightly biased opinion, he showed a lot of potential and isn't afraid of finding his limits. Even if he doesn't find a seat for 2025, I feel that his name went from one few people knew to one of the most renowned, and I find it very unlikely he won't be driving in 2026.

Thank you for saying the issue with VCARB was the team and not the drivers. Not only has the car been dreadful but the team's strategy. I bet Danny and Yuki would of done better when they had the better car at the start of the season if there wasn't the down right weird strat calls really hurt the team. During the races both drivers where screwed over by the team. I feel Danny would of been viewed more highly if the team didn't drop the ball. Yuki too since he drove the wheels of that car but just to have his arm tied behind his back over the strats. Lawson too i feel has been effected by this.

As a Canadian F1 fan, hearing about Lance just brings me great shame and embarrassment on an international level. I would almost prefer no Canadians on the grid at all over a daddy's boy that can't drive and everyone hates.

Lando isn't a loser, but I also wonder if the zen in the last two races was because the pressure was now essentially off since it was *his* championship to lose. If has learned to handle that pressure it'll be huge, I'm just not entirely convinced yet. I'm also not sure he has the killer instinct that champions have, but he did have a great season.

You keep calling Lando chill and relaxed, I’d more say resigned, broken or depressed.

Of all the F1 Youtube channels out there, I believe that you do the best job in diving into the knowledge and strategy for drivers and teams. You should have no trouble creating content during the winter given the uncertainty of the driver seats for Red Bull and Racing Bulls, the tantalizing new driver partnerships for more than half the grid in 2025, the lead up to the major changes for all constructors in 2026 and what's been going on with the FIA. There is so much to talk about. I really enjoy your intelligent analysis mixed with clever humour and greatly value your insight. I will be sure to tune in regularly to your channel to get the most informative and entertaining F! news. My wish for you is 100k subscribers by the time the lights next go out in Melbourne. And thank you for all your perspective while standing on a ladder in 2024.

Wouldn't it be good to cover more motorsport disciplines so off-season periods don't leave you craving any news?
