Using dark mode can negatively impact your cognative performance. You'll read slower and you will spot fewer spelling mistakes. Better switch to light mode when it matters!

I use dark mode because it's cooler, but also I'm a programmer, and there are more options for contrast to highlight syntactic structure. Admittedly, it is harder to see bolded text on a dark background, but that's a minor loss as color contrast matters more.

Personally,

I switch to dark mode and lower brightness to 0% briefly whilst in the cinema so as to not disturb others.

Once I had left I dialed it back up to 30% and restored white mode. 🙂
