TESTING RADIOACTIVE FLEA MARKET FINDS!

Показать описание
I went to my local flea market and spotted a box of old clocks for sale. Thought there might be some radioactive ones but wasn't sure until I brought it home to test. There's some fun clocks parts in here I want to make something with, I'll use most of the "junk" in here for crafting projects. I use the term junk lovingly of course!
*Proper precautions were taken before going through the box with my bare hands and inside my house. When dealing with old clocks/radios etc caution must be taken if they have the potential of having the luminous radium (radioactive) paint used on them!

I remember when I was a kid I got really into fallout 3 so I asked my mother who was a radiologist tech at the time if they counted their radiation consumption by rads lol

Probably get a lot of scrap and useful building materials out of those!

I have a small collection of radioactive antiques myself, but please be wary of having too many. Even though the pieces by themselves are mostly harmless, having many can result in radon gas accumulating in your house.

We had an alarm clock my parents used, when I was growing up. We also had this magical nightlight. It was a 1/2" pink frame with this glowing green paper and clear acetate over it. No bulb. Now I know what that thing was. Handled it all the time..

I used to have that square flip up clock when I was a kid, one of my favorite knicknacks from my grandparents

Wow! That’s cool! I didn’t realize that’s why clock hands glowed. As a kid I bought small clock at yard sale that came in little clamshell type case. I probably still have it somewhere.

I been handling that exact square style one when I was a kid in the 80's and 90's.

Before you customise anything I would suggest going to a antique dealer you never know you could have $1, 000 in that box

Ms fallouts home has to be at least 20% radioactive with all the uranium she’s collected over time 😭
