I remember doing an experiment for science as a kid. Froze some water in a container, placed a pebble on the frozen surface and put it back into the freezer overnight. The next day, the pebble had sunk into the ice and was stuck.
I forget the exact reason behind it but the simple fact is that ice melts under physical pressure and the water then re-freezes once it no longer has pressure on it.

I dream of one day being able to play ice hockey outside. I live on the beach and absolutely love hockey.. Just the sound of the skates and sticks hitting the ice seems so satisfying. better than roller hockey.
