Compact and Powerful! Forest Master FM5 Electric Log Splitter

The Forest Master FM5 is a fast, compact, and lightweight 5-ton log splitter that is ideal for beginners or those who use small to medium wood burners. It is best suited for splitting soft or green wood, but can also be used to split hard or knotty wood with the optional DuoCut™ blade.

The FM5 has a quick cycle time of 9 seconds and can split logs up to 300 mm (12 inches) in length. It is powered by a 2200 W motor and produces a genuine 5 tons of splitting force, which is significantly more powerful than other small log splitters.

The FM5 comes with hydraulic oil pre-filled and a workbench and guard that complies with all new safety regulations. The guard has solid sides to prevent split logs from catching in an opening and causing damage. It can accommodate logs up to 300mm in diameter, while other manufacturers' cages only allow up to 250mm.

The FM5 can also be fitted with the DuoCut™ blade (sold separately), which helps to split knotty and hard wood by giving the FM5 two opposing contact points. However, fitting the DuoCut™ blade will reduce the maximum log length to 230mm.

Mine has been going great for 2 years now. I store it outdoors with a tarp over and keep the surfaces and bolts greased. Seems to be ok
Splits beech, birch, cherry, ash, pine sycamore and a few other species. Bed is a bit short but suits my stove as I only takes 12" logs. Would happily buy again

I am not in any way connected with Forest Master. I bought one of these a few months ago. It makes splitting logs a joy. Wet or dry, it does not matter. I even find it therapeutic. I think they come in different power ratings. Just make sure you get the one most suited to the wood you are most likely to be splitting. It beats swinging an axe, hands down.
