The Original motive of Jill Roberts (It involved Roman Bridger) | SCRE4M Explained

In todays episode, we’re taking a look at…shall we say a rumour that started some time ago regarding Jill Roberts and her original motive in Scream 4.
So a few months back, I noticed an interesting post on the Woodsboro Facebook page, which saw a person state that in the original draft for Scream 4, Jill Roberts mentioned Roman Bridger during the climax of the movie, when she was face-to-face with Sidney. The line would have tied the movies together, and would have changed the way we see Jill as a killer, as it was obvious from this alleged line that she was somewhat motivated by Roman’s actions, and followed in his footsteps.

Jill and Roman being cousins often overlooked but Roman cause Jill to envy Sidney since he is the mastermind of all the events of the franchise.

Always felt like the lack of any mention to Roman aside from Kirby naming him in 6 during the scene with Detective Bailey was sort of their soft retcon. Like they acknowledge that he existed but I feel like they sweep the whole “he was behind everything” under the rug and almost pretend it didn’t happen

It would’ve been the first time a killer from a sequel would’ve been mentioned and I could see Jill talking like that to Sidney. Honestly I do forget that Jill and Roman are blood connected as cousins as well💀

When I first saw scream 4 in theaters during Jill’s reveal I SWEAAR I remember a moment where kirby’s phone rings- Jill picks it up screaming (pretending to be a victim “Help me! Help”) then she hangs up and points the knife at Sidney back to evil mode. Now I’m like 99% sure I remember seeing that scene in theaters but haven’t seen it anywhereee else. Not in deleted scenes, not in any scripts I’ve seen. The ONLY evidence I have is in the original scream 4 trailer towards the end during the final climactic montage when everyone in the cast is screaming there’s a Split second where we see Jill screaming into a phone (obviously staging herself as a victim). If you go look at the trailer you’ll see that moment but I’m wondering could you check the scripts or any other info I’d that scene was actually filmed. Cus I was only 13 but I remember VIVIDLY that scene and how much I loved it and sucks it’s not in the film now. Maybe it’s the Mandela effect but I swear I’m not imagining this scene.

Jill wishing roman still being around and with her is so cute. THIS SHOULD HAVE STAYED. I can see why it was deleted tho. I actually found the better copy online after being intrigued, took me a good 20 mins though, Those who are pointing out grammar mistakes aren't realizing majority of original copy drafts are written this way. Just look at any original scream screenplay they all look poorly written at certain points.

Both Roman and Jill accused Sydney of stealing fame from them. They both were family members of Sydney who each expressed that this fame caused their families to neglect them.
Roman and Jill were blood-related. Jill was a blood cousin to both him and Sydney. They both did movies in which they wanted Sydney to die.

Seeing as Sam and Kirby knew each other in school it made me think Sam probably knew Jill and Jill knew who Sam's father was and bullied her at school over it. I think there's more between Sam and Jill than that line "Last massacre that happened here in Woodsboro was in 2011. Every once in a while some idiot decides to go crazy and kill their friends." from Sam in Scream 2022.

Roman is my favorite Ghostface, he started all, i mean even dead his actions is still affecting Sidneys life. Hes the real ghostface.

Another thing, in my opinion, Jill and Charlie should've gotten proper acknowledgement in the events of Scream 2022. I mean it could've easily been done, what with how they were recording and uploading their murders onto the dark web. This could've been where Ritchie and Amber got inspiration for some of their murderous ideas and therefore technically Jill, in a twisted way, achieved her goal of achieving 'fame' by inspiring future Ghostfaces.

When you break down Scream 4, it's the only one where Ghostface actually achieves his/her goal.

Jill was recording and uploading her murders, presumably to the dark web. This would've helped to inspire Ritchie and Amber when it came to planning their murders as they wanted to create a 'movie that was better received than the last one'. Therefore they along with other future Ghostfaces across the Scream-verse probably watched some of Jill and Charlie's videos. Jill got her fame even after death.

This would've been awesome if it was included in the movie-Roman's character was thrown to the wayside in favor of Billy starting everything (which I get), but undermines Roman being behind all of it. Still, I'm glad they acknowledged him doing it all on his own in scream 6

It can also be a very Important Fact that its QUITE possible sidney avoided telling anybody inlcuding gale and dewey that Roman Is related to her...this whole time...

On the topic of family connections and mentioning them I was always disappointed there was never any mention of Nancy Loomis. I know Samantha has this conflict about her father being a killer but so was her grandmother. I always thought they would at least mention this in passing.

I would have loved her to acknowledge Roman! I absolutely love Scream 3! And it kind of annoys me that the franchise often disregards it. Sidney says in 5 "Billy Loomis started this", also in 5 Sam mentions Billy as the origin, but I'll allow that cos he was her dad. I think 6 is the only time he's ever given any credit, but even then, he's just regarded as another Ghostface, not the mastermind. HOWEVER! We could debunk this by assuming that maybe Sidney never told anyone about him being her brother. Nobody witnessed his reveal except Sidney, and he isn't mentioned again until 6. Maybe Sidney decided to keep it to herself, pass him off as another movie maniac looking for material for Stab 3, 4 and beyond, let the truth die with him and give herself some peace from the media. That would bring hers and Roman's stories full circle; she keeps him secret like her mum did, and nobody knows who he really was, just as before.
