How to solve the PAN function not working in AutoCAD

In this video, I show you how to solve the Middle mouse button or wheel does not perform PAN functions in AutoCAD.
Issue:
When pressing the scroll wheel button or the middle mouse button to pan in AutoCAD, nothing happens or another command such as ZOOM is launched.

Causes:
MBUTTONPAN system variable is 0,
Mouse Button Click button 3 macro in CUI not set to PAN.

Solution: All AutoCAD versions
Method 01
Verify in AutoCAD that the MBUTTONPAN system variable is set to 1.

Method 02
Set the MBUTTONPAN system variable to 1,
Edit the Button 3 function and change the macro from SNAP to PAN.

neither method worked. AutoCAD just likes to mess around and suddenly act broken with things like this for no reason. I just open it and suddenly things are different while i never changed anything...

if anyone's struggling with this for AutoCAD Mac, go into your computer settings, select mission control, and make sure that button 3 isn't being used for any system actions (for example, when i held down the scroll wheel, it showed the desktop)

It could also be that your scroll wheel clicker is not working - that was my problem
