That divine intelligence, the one far shining light of lights, ranges far in waking and goes the same way in sleep
May my mind rest in That, intent on the highest good

That which empowers the keepers of holy traditions, when they gather to perform sacred acts
That causal spirit in all beings May my mind rest in That, intent on the highest good

That knowledge, memory and will; That immortal light within all creatures, without which no action can be done
May my mind rest in That, intent on the highest good

That eternity which contains all this – the world, the past, the future; That through which the sacrifice by seven priests unfolds
May my mind rest in That, intent on the highest good

That in which the ṛk sāma and yajur vedas are fixed like spokes in the hub of a wheel; That on which the heart the mind, the memory of all beings are woven
May my mind rest in That, intent on the highest good

Just as a skilled charioteer controls his steeds with reins, so impetuous man is governed by That which dwells in the heart, agile and swiftest of all May my mind rest in That, intent on the highest good

I’m not of Indian decent, nor do I speak Sanskrit. But this is deeply moving to me.
I also love how much it means to people of Indian heritage and to those that speak Sanskrit.
❤️🙏

May be, sankrit was an ancient language instead of other language. So that Hindu was the oldest religion in the word. I am balinese Hindu.

I'm a hindu from Bangladesh. But I don't know ABC in Sanskrit. But you're a western girl and fluent in this ancient language. It's incredible. Really it's so amazing to see such kind of people. I wanna hear more songs from you. Keep going, Dear. You're our pride. A bunch of love from #Bangladesh.

A sukta is a divine song. Shiva Sankalpa means right intention or having an auspicious
resolve. The Shiva Sankapa sukta consists of six verses. These six verses are very
sacred
Vedic verses and constitute a hymn. They are regarded as an Upanishad. In fact
some people also call it Shivasamkalpopanishad.
These six Shiva Sankalpa mantras are also repeated in the first chapter of
Rudrashtadhyayi. Chanting the six mantras of the Shiva Sankalpa for some time
everyday, is a method to steady the mind. It is also a method to control one's
subconscious mind (the chitta), and the faculty of thought. The six verses of the
Shiva
Sankalpa sukta are listed below with the meaning in English.
yajjāgrato dūramudaiti,
daivaṃ tadu suptasya tathaivaiti.
dūraṃgamaṃ jyotiṣāṃ jyotirekaṃ,
tanme manaḥ śivasaṃkalpamastu
1. That mind which in the waking state through the means of the senses
roams through this world[1], and which in the dream state roams through
many worlds [2] and in the state of deep sleep returns to its origin[3],
that far wanderer, that light of knowledge[4] my mind, may you have good
intentions[5].
yena karmāṇyapaso manīṣiṇo,
yaj¤e kṛṇvanti vidatheṣu dhīrāḥ.
yadapūrvaṃ yakṣmantḥ prajānāṃ,
tanme manaḥ
2. The means by which a man who wants to do good[6], whose senses are
stilled and who is wise and dilligent beomes proficient in yajnas and
other karmas established by the shastras and also that which is the
principal and most revered of the means of knowledge, my mind, may you
have good intentions.
yavpraj¤ānamuta ceto dhṛtiśca,
yajjyotirantaramṛtaṃ prajāsu.
yasmānna|ṛte kiṃcana karma kriyate,
tanme manaḥ
3. That mind which disregarding the demands of the senses is focused on
knowledge alone, and which knows the elements of the universe[7], constant
and immortal, which lives inside a man but is capable of illuminating what
is outside, without whom no actions are possible, my mind, may you have
good intentions.
yenedaṃ bhūtaṃ bhuvanaṃ bhaviṣyata
parigṛhītamamṛtena sarvama.
yena yaj¤astāyate saptahotā,
tanme manaḥ
4. That exists until mukti[8], that knows past, present and future,
through which the yogis obtain immortality[9], and through which the yajna
with seven priests[10] is performed, my mind, may you have good
intentions.
yasminnṛcḥ sāma yajūṃṣi,
yasmina pratiṣṭhitā
rathanābhāvivārāḥ.
yasmiṃścittaṃ sarvamotaṃ prajānāṃ,
tanme manaḥ
5. That mind which is the hub of the chariot wheel whose spokes are the
Rks, Yajus, and Samans and whose axle is knowledge and which is pulled
this way and that by the sense-horses, my mind may you be of good
intentions.
suṣārathiraśvāniva yanmanuṣyāna,
nenīyate|bhīśubhirvājina iva.
hṛvpratiṣṭhaṃ yadajiraṃ javiṣṭhaṃ,
tanme manaḥ
6. Just as a good charioteer makes the horses run according to his
commands so they go where he wants them too, so too the mind can guide a
man towards his desire and by restraining animal instincts lead to that
dweller in the heart who is immoirtal and free of turmoil[11], my mind may
you have good intentions.
NOTES:
[1] The eyes, ears record data but it is the mind that makes it mean

4:30 this line alone, has revolutionized my meditation.
Whenever i feel torn by fleeting random subconcious thoughts interrupting me, i now imagine my higher self as a rider in command of the horse (my subconcious), steering it back onto the right track, the exact same way you'd guide or calm down an animal.
In a quite literal manner of commanding and controlling your own brain, to submit to your meditation and quiet all thoughts. Not by asking, not by begging, but commanding. Because it's your body, your brain. Your higher self is in charge, and you simply just have to take charge.

Previously i just had the flawed perspective of "requesting" myself to let those thoughts slip, but it never worked, the subconcious is like a wild stallion that wont listen to requests. You have to command it to obey your higher self. It has no choice but to submit, because it cannot exist without you.
This is a perspective i never before thought of, even though i've understood the seperation between brain and mind. It was still this specific sentence that made me intellectually understand what mental methods to employ in order to bind the two in unison.
