I've fallen into the trap of patience after over-extending myself and subsequently questioning what I want in life/my whole identity. I chased tranquility for a while but felt dead. Thank you for this Tom. I needed it. I needed the "go" that there was nothing wrong with hunger. Thanks for filing the hole I had created with this little seed of wisdom.

In the beginning you started with embracing your quirks and who you are and I just said that yesterday about myself and my business. I am sure it's the same in any industry and in mine, travel, I am not a mega site or any other travel company and instead of trying to copy them or do similar things, it's my difference that makes me valuable to "my" clients. We have to embrace who we are and what we offer and know it's not going to be for the masses-unless that's the goal of course.

I am quirky and a little odd-but I do a good job because of that and when I am my quirky self and my clients want the customization and someone to create an experience, it works. They are experiencing something that impacts their lives, I enjoy the process and knowing I am making a difference and I make more money doing this.

Right after or a couple questions after you talked about patience and I think it's more of someone's interpretation of patience because for me that doesn't mean sit back and not give it 100%, instead it means understanding there is a process and evolution that we need to go through. I started my business about a year ago and I needed to be patient and understand I wasn't going to get the big income right away (I wait until the travel is completed) and I couldn't get everything set up right away and still I am always tweaking things. So patience for me is accepting the process, giving it my all and not getting frustrated, angry or giving up.

You did say something about being yourself and that's unique. What you offer or anyone is not the same as anyone else and to feel like it's a race against someone else changes the mindset to be about beating everyone else and worrying about what they are doing versus creating something that only you offer the way you offer it.
