Hands up if you think this bloke doesn’t even have a brother?

Simple, he is lying. I worked in the DWP and still do advocacy work for our tenants. They don't get that kind if money at all. Stop lying. Foolishness

Bullsh*t I'm on three types of benefit and see approx £800 a month. His brother is winding him up!

Former UC Case Manager and Work Coach here and yes this is absolutely possible. UC flat rate for a couple over 25 (let’s assume the highest amount) is £617.60. 2 children are £333.33 for the first and £287.92 and DLA at the middle rate care component is £314.81 each and disabled child element of UC is £156.11 each. Let’s say both adults are carers (one for each child) so that’s another 2 lots of £198.31 per month. Let’s take the caller at face value that all the £900 rent is being paid as well (it’s LHA rate but it’s possible in the South East for it to be that) so that’s a grand total of £3477.31 so the caller could well be spot on.

He’s talking nonsense. The Tories introduced a benefits cap of £25k a year in 2017. I’m pretty certain the only exemption is for families with children that have severe special needs

There's no truth to this whatsoever. I have ADHD and I don't receive a single penny in personal independence payments. I also have complex post traumatic stress disorder, major depressive disorder and generalised anxiety disorder. I still dont receive a single penny from PIPs. All I get is basic universal credit until I'm healthy enough to get back to work. This caller is lying through his teeth.

My best friend has ADHD, autism and various physical problems and gets nowhere near 40k. I call bullsh*t.

One thing that will forever be true of English people, we detest seeing other people get help 🤷‍♂️ even if it’s our own family according to this person.

Nonsense. He hates someone who is on benefits or he couldn't get benefits himself and sour

This is dangerous misinformation, needs to be flagged and have context that this is obviously not true

Ok. I've ADHD (also being diagnosed for Autism, PTSD and Disassociative Symptoms) and was diagnosed within the last year.
I get zero in benefits because of my mental issues. Im currently not working (because im trying to get my diagnosis sorted), so qualify for a massive £380 a month in Universal Credit.
Having ADHD does not qualify you for PIP (which is £800 a month extra).
How does the caller get to the figure of £3500 a month?!
I'd be delighted with getting half of that a month, but in reality i barely get 10% of the figure.

PIP - max award is f786.00 and if he claims for both children he would get an additional £786.
Council house - £900 (in this callers case)
No council tax, carers allowance at £81.60 weekly that he is entitled to per child. Cbblaiming PIP and carers allowance doesn't impact on the Dad's universal credit that he'll get for being unemployed.
Free NHS prescriptions
Family tax credits (to uplift the Dad's supposed low income, family allowance, free school meals, free bus pass to access transport.
Unfortunately this caller is not full of BS 💩his Brother will not be far away from the £40k annually .
I was a volunteer at my local benefit advice charity advising on entitlement and assisting with application completion.

Of all things that have never happened, this never happened the most.

Source: "trust me, bro!"

Whenever anyone repeatedly says "honestly", you know they're a liar.

Nah. A member of my family was a PIP assessor. There's absolutely no way he's getting that in benefits. The people they were visiting were living in near poverty.

He's making that up, straight up lies - I have a severely mentally handicapped child and he gets roughly £400+ per month. Wouldn't be surprised if this guy hasn't even got a Brother.

The only thing that this illustrates is that wages in the uk should be higher and remt should be cheaper.

Yeah it's grossly exaggerated for effect

Hard enough to get diagnosed with ADHD let alone treated. No way is he getting support for that.

Assuming everything is above board though it's a pity that the government can pay people what they need to live but companies won't
