Zelensky describes atrocities committed by Russians in Bucha at UN Security Council

Ukrainian President Zelensky has told the UN Security Council about the atrocities committed by Russian troops in Bucha.

He described the systematic "killing and torturing" of Ukrainians, including women and children.

Emphasising the "pleasure" Russians had taken in these murders, Zelensky spoke of citizens being "shot in the back of the head", having "limbs cut off", "tongues pulled out", and "women being raped".

The UN urgently needs a fundamental reform (way overdue), especially regarding its Security Council and the veto rights of its five permanent members. The Security Council was a product of victor’s justice, which is never really justifiable (or fair). As nations sometimes need a national referendum for constitutional reforms, it’s high time for the UN to do the same.

And, by the RottenSian standards, murders and rapes are not crimes especially when done in volume. As is often mentioned, every nation has a government it deserves. Putin is Russia, and Russia is Putin. So, Putin is convinced that there’d be no backfire internally. But, of course, internationally it’s a totally different story.

On the other hand, I unreservedly admire, respect and sympathize with the Ukranians and their leader, Zelensky, who’s been showing the whole world how a great leader should be in a national crisis.
