If you are going to buy a timeshare, buy it on the secondary market for a fraction of the cost Hilton is going to sell it. You will purchase at the true market price.

I got caught up in one of these timeshare presentations one time, in pigeon forge, because they offered $120 cash and free buffet breakfast for me and my wife. The tour was nice and the breakfast was outstanding but they were so pissed off when I asked for my $120 and then proceeded to walk out the door. They chased me yelling all the way to the car. I still smile to this day thinking about how I took them for about $200 worth of cash and free breakfast lol

I went to a presentation expect I chose the one in Orlando last year when I was so. I just set a timer for 2 hours and left when the timer was up. The details of participation states that you only need to attend 2 hours of the presentation and closing.

It's easier to understand the whole scam part of sales meeting when you figure out most of the sales staff are convicted felons that served prison time or criminals with numerous misdemeanor charges. They love hiring scammers to scam U.😅

I've attended several of Hilton's timeshare presentations in different cities that are places I planned to vacation at. I listen and always say no. It's not a big deal for me. I have another scheduled in Gatlinburg, Tn. in July. This will be my final timeshare presentation for Hilton I'll attend. I've been to Orlando, Honolulu, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head Island SC., along with several trips to Las Vegas. I'm usually LMAO quietly during these presentations.

I did one of these for a cheap trip to Cabo. It was actually fantastic. The timeshare pitch was short. Sat there and stared blankly and gave short general responses. Guy let us go after like 20 minutes.

"I get anxiety when I don't work", lol. I've done 2-3 dozen timeshare presentations, but only as an already existing owner with HGVC. We bought Hilton and Wyndham resale on Ebay. They cost $2, 500 every-other-year for 2 weeks in Hawaii. $180 a night is a really good deal.

You literally have to hire a lawyer to TRY to get out of a timeshare. It's a friggin trap and even gets passed down to your kids by default. HARD PASS!

I did one (also HGV) in Myrtle Beach as a bit of a staycation after the tax deadline.

I called to use my 2023 Aspire credit before it switched to a calendar year, and they gave me points to talk to someone who wanted to convince me to book a presentation.

It was $229 after taxes and included a $200 certificate that is extremely restrictive (you lock in 1 brand, it can only be used for 1 night, and the extra won't carry over, etc.) I'd rather have the 100k, but I also burned the first 2024 credit since I was staying at a resort, which was good.

My favorite part was that I didn't even need to lie. I truthfully told him that I don't pay cash for hotels, which he wasn't expecting 😂

Since you can do 1 every 12 months per chain, I'm planning to go through all the brands each year to get 3-5 free or almost free vacations every year.

How is it a scam if you got your vacation with a huge discount and it does tell you that there is gonna be a sales presentation? I did it in Orlando with Hilton Grand Vacations, and it was worth it. Where is the scam?

When they start asking questions, like your job, how much time you get off. What if you say, "I'm not interested in talking about myself or buying anything. I'm just here because I have to be." How would they respond? I would just keep saying I don't want to talk about my situation.
