Rumours of Neymar’s return to Santos have been all over the headlines int he football world, with a possible termination of his contract at Al-Hilal being rumoured to be on the cards. If that were to happen, Neymar’s transfer to Santos, his boyhood club, would be a beautiful homecoming for the injured Brazilian star.

As a brazilian and an avid watcher of our league, im excited for his return, but the thing is the brazilian league is ridiculously physically demanding. Suarez recently left gremio to go to inter miami, and at his exit ceremony he said he was caught by surprise at how hard it is to play here and how it was the most physically demanding league hes ever played in (granted his knees had disintegrated at that point but the brazilian league really is extremely tough). This scares me because I can totally see Neymar getting injured almost immediately upon his return. Hope thats not the case.

Neymar might be a goofball but his skill on the field was always tantalizing and skating the legendary. He just never achieved the heights he probably should have. I was pro-Neymar guy from way back to the 1st Santos run, when the Euros were doubting him and saying he had to do it in Europe to prove it. He proved it. Santos is lucky to have them back.

Radamel Falcao came back to Millonarios. He never actually got to play there in the past, he went to Argentina quite young, but he was a big fan growing up. As a Millonarios fan seeing one of the greatest Colombian footballers play there is just wonderful and had to bring him up haha

6:44 damn what a great mentality, this type of management is what makes them the biggest team I guess. It’s always about the team not about attention or promotion, I wish she manages my team 😅

It's extremely sad what has happened to a legend, his body just fell apart on him

Also Thiago Silva back to Fluminese

Neymar is 32. Benzema won ballon d or at 35, Lewandowski would have won at 33, Modric also won at 33. Being in the ronaldo-messi era is no excuse for neymar

An Al-Hilal fan here.
For more context, the question that hasn’t been asked is: what would motivate Neymar to leave now, with only six months left on his contract?

What has fueled the rumors of Neymar’s departure recently is that each club is limited to 8 foreign players, and currently, with Neymar, we have 9. This means one of them must leave during the upcoming transfer window or well be left out. Neymar, of course, will not accept being excluded from the squad despite his recurring injuries. However, the difficulty lies in the fact that the remaining players are performing exceptionally well, and the team needs them.

Also, Neymar’s frequent injuries, especially the circumstances surrounding his latest one, have reinforced doubts about him.

I strongly believe he will most likely stay until the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, after that his next destination will probably be Santos.

Rui Costa returned to Benfica as well.

Santos definitely wants him back. The main concerns are his fitness and recent injury history and his salaries/earnings. From the marketing side, it would be great for both sides I think. The problem is that Santos doesn't have the financial health to guarantee big payments (they just got back to 1st division). If they can sign him, keep him fit and playing in a good level, then there's a shot that it would work out.
Also, Neymar has to keep himself out of trouble outside the pitch. Brazilian people has gotten kinda unforgiving due to his past antics...

Andrey Shevchenko return to Dinamo Kiev was pretty good back in the day!

Neymar is one of the most entertaining players on the pitch, the way injuries have hit him so hard is just a shame for football

Where are the "First" or "10 min 2 views bro fell off" annoying comments??

Maybe people are growing up, very beautiful to see. 🥺👍

Isnt it better to go to Inter Miami because MLS is less physical then brazilian league and it is less competitive also MSN?

If he can't hack top flight football given his injury record then going to the Brasileiro Serie A doesn't look like a good idea tbh. The league is more intense and competitive than the Saudi Pro League which make me believe that Neymar's injury cycle will continue in full flow over there. Retiring is probably the best and least expensive option.

Santos just won the Serie B championship. Would love to see them have a great bounce back year next year with/without neymar

Merlo is the goat! He’s definitely my go-to for transfer news as a LA Galaxy/US Soccer reporter. One of the best

The only problem is if Santos can pay Neymar or will Neymar take a pay cut

He's completely crocked. He should be paying a club to take him.

Really should return. Santos needs help and Neymar can help. He has made the money, just give it up and go home and have fun.
