Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact review: A marvelous mini mobile

It's got all the power of a bigger flagship, but it won't force you to stretch your thumbs out to use it.

Sony doesn't get enough play; I have the Xperia X and it's really, really good.

Check out some battery comparison test. The test shows it has great battery management despite of the size. Can perform well n comparable with bigger size battery phones. It's a beast!

Went back to Sony after 6 months with an S8 which is a great phone but the curved glass and the Bixbybutton made me look elsewhere when the glass cracked on my S8.

Had Xperia Z5 Compact before the S8 - really loved my Z5 but the build was so crappy with the glass back cracking twice. Loved the format and the sound on my Z5.

Had my XZ2 compact for a week now and its really fast - much more snappy than any phone i had so far. Sound is amazing and the plastic might not be that premium but feels great to hold and I am actually a bit tired of brittle glassphones.

The cons is that it seems extremely picky when it comes to headphones. It just wont play with a pair of 1 year old Sony and Razer in-ears... They do well with my big Sennheiser over-ear. Sony support think it might be some problem with my adapter from usb-c to 3.5. The in-ear headphones was doing fine with my S8.

As I listen a lot to music Sony is a great option for me due to soundquality and I prefer the compact size.

Been a month or so and I'm glad I got the compact, battery is great & very similar to my old S7 edge. 3 days average use, I'm not a gamer or avid movie watcher. Mainly its used for calls (No dropped calls so far!), music & internet. Fast, very comfortable to hold and use one handed. Reminds me of a smaller iPhone in size with all the abilities of Android. Comes with a very short headphone jack to usb-c dongle & ear buds which is easily forgiven since using it for a while, its not the deal breaker that I had expected it to be. 4.5/5

I'm disappointed that not many phone shops in the are selling this phone. It's remarkable for a compact size phone and design aside, it rivals any flagship out at the moment in terms of performance! Unfortunately I am being forced to change networks in order to get my hands on one.

Yes, size is important. It seems the only other option right now would be the iPhone 8. So I like it.

I can really see the difference in size next to the other models. I use a tablet for media consumption so I no longer need my S9+ phablet. I only wish they trimmed the weight and rear bump down.

im 6'1 with large hands and currently have a huge LG phone. personally im SICK of these big ass phones. its a brick in my pocket, it looks ridiculous, and even with my size hands using it one handed is almost impossible. I dont watch movies on it (I have a tv for that) I dont play games on it (because im a grown ass man) I dont do social media (again grown ass man). I just need something small that will make calls, texts and I dont have to charge 4 times a day. I think I just found the perfect phone.
