This is interesting to hear but honestly I don't know why you said the card is never considered in D/D/Ds, nearly every modern list either mains Vice King Requiem or sides him. He's a great extender that's a key part of breaking boards with D/D/D.

I was seeing people use this for the light and dark event in MD and my only thought after seeing it on those lists was “holy shit that’s brilliant”. I can only imagine how much better it is in TCG with the new Unchained support

Tbf, vice king Requiem is really strong in DDD for going 2nd. Which is what they are terrible at.

This helps you clear a board so you can set up your combo if you have it or not.

Also, if you have a level 1 tuner like veiler, you can make ddd cursed king Siegfried instead (since machinex needs 2 materials or one contract in the filed to work) which is a very strong targeting spell/trap negation (you can negate a drnm/droplet with it if you can chain a spell or trap) then, if you need more atk you can summon machinex on top of it, then rank up to seven sins (which is already good removal if it survives and good wall by default), attack, and go into a 3 mat zeus.
