The Stunning Fanatec Bentley Sim Racing Wheel | First Look

In today's video I'm taking a first look at the new Bentley wheel which crosses the line between sim racing and real world motorsport, talking to Fanatec CEO Thomas Jackermeier, and taking a ride in the company van around the Nurburgring.

Fanatec debuted the upcoming Bentley wheel at Sim Racing Expo and were kind enough to give me a healthy chunk of time to make this before the doors opened and things got busy!

Really appreciate fanatec’s strategic approach. Bring economies of scale through consumer sales to drive down costs for race teams, thereby encouraging more crossover partnerships. Everyone wins. Exciting to see this unfold.

Interesting concept, to develop wheels for the teams to get them cheaper wheels and get authentic stuff to the consumer. Seems like it would benefit all parties pretty well.

As silly as it sounds at first, but I do kinda like the display stand and that it does offer some functionallity on top even if it is just a clock. Definitely an eye catcher. Thanks for the video.

2 more wheels in the making with more on the way is super exciting. I wonder what else we can expect. Porsche and Aston Martin just recently switched to a new steering wheel that already looks very similar to the BMW GT3 steering wheel, so I can't image either of them will already be developing a new steering wheel with Fanatec. Ferrari is still in bed with Thrustmaster, so I don't think Ferrari would ever have Fanatec build them a new steering wheel. Honda/Acura is leaving GT3. Audi/Lamborghini's wheel supplier, MegaLine, already makes sim conversions of their genuine steering wheels under the label, Phoenix Sim Racing.

Mercedes' steering wheel is very much overdue for a refresh, so maybe we're getting a new Fanatec Mercedes wheel. Hyundai's Veloster N ETCR has been spotted using the Podium Advanced Paddle module, so maybe Hyundai and Fanatec will have something in the works. There are a lot of LMH and LMDH cars coming out soon. Maybe one of them will use a Fanatec steering wheel now that Fanatec is making wheels with integrated displays, but those cars have much higher budgets than a GT Car.

I dont buy Fanatec products anymore but if SRM or someone else can make this work with my SC2 I’d buy one. I think it’s the best looking Fanatec wheel to date.

Really nice looking wheel, although I wouldnt necessary need the support for my Bentley Gt3 Pikes Peak that I have laying around at home

The screen is cool, but I can't really imagine using it in a race..
All info is on my monitor and looking down to look on the wheel doesn't seem like something I would do a lot.
