Just started “Ray tracing in one weekend” it’s good to see that so far I’m on the right path.

Is there any advice you can give on how to better internalize the c++ programming part of graphics engineering?

an intern with 2+ years of c#, c++ experience doesn't that mean he has worked 2 years in c#/c++? an intern is supposed to be a fresh graduate or a student

Thanks for the video Mike. I find myself in a pretty weird spot. I graduated 2 years ago with a Master's degree in Computer Graphics, however I got a generic C++ programming job cause I couldn't find entry-level Graphics jobs in my country (Romania). I quit that job due to my motivation still being tied to Graphics, but Internships are usually looking for students graduating in the next year/semester, and pretty much all the other Graphics positions look like Mid+ level where shipping at least one game is required, alongside a couple of years of experience.

Do you think it's possible to hop from a non-graphics field to a mid-level graphics job, and if so, what would be the best way? I guess a good course of action is to work on complex personal projects. I have a hybrid ray tracer used for my thesis and I'm thinking of expanding upon by implementing stuff like ReSTIR from scratch, adding a modern denoising solution and heavily optimize (to the best of my ability) using GPU profilers.

Question, how do you take general software experience and switch to a different industry?

Thank you for your helpful video! I'd love to ask you a question. How do you see the career prospect as a graphics engineer ? I'm not from US but it seems like that it is a worldwide phenomenon that software engineering job market is getting collapsed. I got an internship in openGL pipeline optimization but still getting a bit worried about my future career.

Hi Mike, I'm going to have an interview as Graphics Dev intern. Do you have any advice for me?

Hey Mike, I'm 32 and I just started university this year. I have been studying C++ for a year because graphics programming and game dev are the areas that I would like to work in. Do you think is it worth it because of my age? I hope you understand because english is not my native language. By the way, really nice video and greetings from Argentina 😁😁
