Ukrainian here. I live about 50 km away from that military base in Yavoriv.

There different sides to the story but most Ukrainian appreciate US help on this. I would be lying if I said that Ukraine is receiving enough support but we'll take what we can.

I think it's also obvious that Russian army has good units in small quantity. The 2014 was full of nice pictures of these well equipped and scary russian soldiers. This war had 200k + soldiers involved and we saw that 50% of those are bums. Literally, conscripts that either never held a weapon or held it once. And it seems that most of them are sick butchers. For the last 2 days we are seeing images from the Kyiv region, it's horrendous. Truly disturbing stuff of what these maniacs are capable of.

So UK/some EU/US, any help is greatly appreciated. As for our military, the guys are doings gods work. I think that - literally - every country around the world was surprised by how well Ukrainian soldiers are fighting against this horde.

Ive read several of Dorfman's articles and found them fascinating. It was really interesting to hear how Dorfman got into journalism bc he didn't jump into it right out of college. Despite not going into journalism myself, I find his story inspiring as I am in my mid-20s with a degree that hasn't gotten me a good job and I am currently retooling myself.

I truly appreciate you guys showing a side of the story that isn’t discussed amongst military and prior military enough. Get Scott Horton on! That would be epic.

Love how this interview flowed. Been really enjoying these more zoomed out perspectives we've been hearing lately. It helps put the incredible stories from previous guests into context.

"The Team House" is documenting history, and man, they've had some really good stuff; much of which you wont hear anywhere else. The podcast discussing DEVGRU's (sub) cultures; no other podcast would have the balls to bring that guy on. Phenomenal piece btw.

It's interesting how events like various wars inspired certain people to become soldiers, and inspired your guest to become a journalist.

Great interview. FWIW: Zach is one of the few people commenting in this field that is not full of BS, Bias and "Making stuff up". For the hosts and the audience, we (usa, dod) worked very hard to train the UA in the american way of war - particularly, taking initiative and responsibility. I have non trivial transparency into some of these activities, and both pre-and post. And we should understand that from 'our' perspective, we were trying to help a democratic country prevent further conquest. Help them escape corruption and unnecessary poverty. And to follow the rest of eastern europe (poland in particular) into prosperity. Now, that's my vantage point. It's certainly clear that we (USA) understood that ukrainian gas and oil reserves would eliminate european dependency upon Russia. So there was strategic value there. But nothing we did was 'surreptitious'. It was above board, and common knowledge. At least among those of us in the think-tank biz who were directly or tangentially involved. -Cheers

Iran ( Persia) was our greatest ally in the region until British and American coup against Mosaddegh ruined everything

I’d love to see a deep dive like this on the UAP topic. They exist elsewhere but of course not with TTH flavor.

I was a sophomore in HS on 9/11 and I loudly exclaimed “it’s bin Laden!” the minute we found out. People looked at me like “wtf?” I had learned who UBL was the year before from my friend’s dad, who was a US Marshal. Being 15 year old boys, we just dreamed up ways of becoming bounty hunters to collect the $$ being offered by our govt. Had no idea how serious that name would become to all of us.

I disagree with the idea that our media environment is healthy, the most telling thing for me was the lack of reporting about the "Hillary Clinton cattle futures controversy" I stumbled across it on Wikipedia. The fact that it never was mentioned by a reporter or during a debate speaks volumes about how shitty the Trump team was as well as how few reporters are fulfilling their role.

I spoke with a former Russian General Vycheslav Borisov in 2001who had a 1, 000, 000.00 bounty placed on him from one of our alphabet agencies, He survived a helicopter shoot down in Afghanistan, Is it shocking that our enemies wouldn't seek to do similar operations like what happened to Extortion 17. Witnesses saw one of the missiles curve RPGs don't do that.

Was curious to see how many other news services picked up the story on Christine Fang. There were 5 other stories including The New Yorker and The Daily Mail.

I see you pulling at those strings about the stories and the political implications. We (on the left) also care about America. Both sides are guilty of dumping stories that don’t fit their narrative. Don’t let the media on either side win here. I believe this is the greatest country in the world and I listen to what the right has to say. We both have a vision for the future and need to come together and compromise! Listen, those of us that love this country need to get over this divide and bond over love of Country. Too many of our adversaries are succeeding in dividing us. Let’s unite around our love of the USA.
