2. Offer to buy him a drink
3. Get to know him a little while you have a few drinks
4. Suggest he come back to your place with you

Warning - some snapping turtles have an incredibly long necks and can snap off fingers. Best not to touch them at all.

I never actually thought about it but picking it up from the tail would actually be pretty bad. It's funny bc people know not to pick animals like cats/dogs and stuff up like that by their tail. I wonder why people (like me lol) thought that snappers were excluded from that rule.

Not saying from experience, I don't plan on ever touching one even with this new knowledge. I like my fingers.

Thank you for making this, you probably saved so many turtles. People don’t realize how heavy these guys can actually get and that their tail is connected to their spine. They’re hardy animals but they deserve respect
