a *highly requested* what I eat in a day video!

a few things that have changed since my last 'what I eat' video

*I am no longer intermittent fasting (only some days of the week I will follow intermittent fasting protocols mainly out of convenience - I share why in this video

*I have now added eggs and chicken back into my diet. Kai (my son) wasn't really enjoying all the beans and lentils every day and we wanted to make sure that he was trying other foods and getting as much nutrients as possible. So I have started eating chicken in addition to the fish that I have already been eating (I was pescatarian for about 2-3 years)

It is important to note that every single day isn't the same. While todays eating was pretty on point, there will be some days where I will have more sweets and less nutrient-dense foods (AND THATS OKAY!). One thing I always remind myself is that there are no "bad" foods, just foods that wont fuel me as well as others and give me the nutrients I need to stay healthy and have good energy.

Today was a lower carb day, but thats not to say that I don't eat bread or other high carb meals. Each day is different for me.

I dont count calories, but I do have a pretty good understanding of how many calories I am eating per day (because of the point in my life where I was diligently counting calories, and my understanding of nutrient density from my Kinesiology studies in University).

This was a nice video. My suggestion to everyone no matter what their goals are is to get enough sleep, intermittent fast, drink lots of water, take vitamins/supplements, & practice the 80/20 rule. The 80/20 rule is really helpful to me. I noticed that when I restrict too much I'm more likely to binge. I still eat what I want, but only occasionally. I don't count calories or weigh myself that often, & I'd recommend that anyone with a history of disordered eating and/or obsessive thoughts about food & weight loss not do these things either. All of these things (including working out with Jo as often as I can) have been helpful to me, so I hope that they can help y'all too! 💚

I have been on my weight loss journey for many years after having children and have been successful by just simply giving myself grace. take your time, applied yourself for the small changes and be patient with yourself. Thank you for your walking workouts! I love them all! I’ve been trying to follow along for 1/2 a year now and have lost 20 lbs. I freestyle when I can’t keep up haha! Thank you so much for your positive energy! I calorie count and try to choose healthier options. Less sugar, more greens. Green tea and lemon water every day.
