For decades Guitar Village has been assisting guitar players throughout the UK and over the world (from the novice to celebrity players) find their dream guitar.
A fantastic range of low interest finance options now help the guitarist find the correct guitar for them without the price tag being an issue by spreading the instalments into easily manageable interest free payments. There’s nothing we love more than allowing a player of the past to re-live their passion by starting up again, but this time with the guitar they always wanted but could never afford.
Guitar Village is based in Surrey, UK and serves customers within its beautiful old building on West Street Farnham and via our online guitar shop.

Farnham is on the borders of Surrey and Hampshire, and only 45 minutes from London. The trip is worth it, but if you prefer to shop online, everything is online too!

The only sensible option is to have one of each

Hmm. The first comparison…50’s was being played with bridge pickup and the 60’s with the neck. Not sure that is a good comparison.

Very similar sounding - if anything I felt the 50s Strat was warmer (the wrong way round according to Sam’s comments!). Blind testingistheonly way to really see ifany difference in sound but I think ‘feel’ may be as important. I would also like to see a comparison with a 70s Strat (I have a 1977). What about a similar comparison of 50/60/70 Teles and/or Thinline vs Custom etc.?

I always end up playing the 60s style Fender much more maybe the rosewood board is friendlier than maple but on a Telecsster/Esquire it has to be maple...for me.

10 years is the difference, isn't it?

Are the pickup selections 3 way for both, rather than 5 way?

I thought the 50s was warmer too. The 60s had a little more spank. Both great guitars.

60s all the way for me - rosewood just looks so much better... The 50s CS Tele is very cool too though. That maple neck is pure filth
