2024 Lexus IS 300 review // V6 still good value?

This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2024 lexus Is 300 AWD compact, luxury sedan. The Lexus IS 300 AWD model has a 3.5L V6 with a 6-speed automatic transmission, 260 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, Premium fuel is required. In Canada, the turbocharged 2L 4-cylinder RWD model with 241 horsepower is gone for 2024 but it is still available in the US.
The Lexus IS 300 has an athletic look with a low, wide stance, bold front fascia and a muscular silhouette. It has 5.5” of ground clearance with a drag coefficient of 0.29. It comes standard with LED headlamps, automatic high beam, 18” wheels and a temporary spare tire. We are driving the F Sport 3 model with premium triple beam LED headlamps, an integrated rear spoiler, 19” F Sport wheels and larger diameter tires.
The Lexus IS 300 comes standard with an 8” touchscreen, available 10.3”, wired Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 8-way power front seats, NuLuxe upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, moonroof and Lexus Safety System+ 2.5.
Unfortunately, the glitchy trackpad is still in the IS but at least the screen is a touchscreen, so you don’t have to exclusively use the trackpad. The cabin is comfortable and driver focused with everything at your fingertips. The IS offers some great front row legroom but does fall short in second row legroom and cargo space compared to some of its competitors.
There’s a lot of value in the Lexus IS 300, in Canada, the AWD model starts at $50,582 CAD,
F Sport design, $52,032 CAD , Luxury $54,532 CAD, F Sport 2 $57,732 CAD, Ultra Luxury $59,182 CAD and our F Sport 3 test model $60,882 CAD.
In the US, the Lexus IS RWD model starts at $41,235 USD, AWD $43,235 USD, RWD F Sport design $43,055 USD, AWD F Sport design $45,095 USD, F Sport RWD $44,305 USD and F Sport AWD $46,345 USD.
The official fuel economy numbers are 12.2L/100 km, 19 MPG city and 9L/100 km, 26 MPG highway. We have been getting better than this 8.7L/100 km, 27 MPG.

My favorite automotive reviewers posting a review of one of my favorite cars, absolute win of a day.

Fun fact, this is probably the last new car on the market that comes with a CD player for those of us who like storing their playlists on plastic frisbees.

Arguably the best looking sports sedan on the market. The major refresh took it up several notches.

I own a 2014 IS350. It's a great all-around car... comfortable, reasonably-fun to drive, great reliability, great looks, best seats I've had in a car... I even like my mouse-like controller for the infotainment system. It's easier and quicker to navigate than trying to select stuff on our new NX's huge touchscreen. The updated IS tested here has even better styling outside and a high quality interior.

I've been driving a 2021 IS300 for 3 years now, I love the car, haven't had a single issue with it. I'm picking up a 2024 IS300 in a few days (the car is leased). Great video and review !!

Excellent review. None of the alternatives make the cut for me. Naturally aspirated engines are the best and paired to the Lexus reliability the car is spot on! 👌🏻

My son is still driving the 2nd generation 2006 IS250 AWD, it's bullet proof V6 and Lexus quality

This is the best looking car in the segment. The rear taillight bar is amazing at night. They just needed to update the infotainment system and the replace the trackpad with a wireless charger like the ES. Looks like they are saving it for the brand new model next year.

For anyone deciding to get the 300 or 350, just get the 300 as it is the same engine as the 350 but detuned. Once warranty is over and you want more power, just have it tuned to 311hp ;)

Fantastic review from start to end! I've seen many reviewers and you guys definitely top all your US counterparts. This IS 300 AWD in F Sport trim is the one to get as you can finally have it in F Sport this year. It certainly is on my list for a future upgrade. Keep up the good work guys!!

Nothing beats that 3.5L V6. So smooth, quick, quiet. It’s used in a lot of Toyotas and Lexuses. When you hate the engine in your car, suddenly tech and fancy options don’t matter anymore.

I ended up getting the 2025 model thanks to this video, appreciate the thorough look, been wanting this car for awhile and a lot of what you guys mentioned sold me on it. Gotta carry that V6 legacy forward. Thanks!

Great video as always. I am here partly for the cars but also for the timepiece of the day. Zack's collection is outstanding.

Great video guys, I love your Lexus video! I also notice that your winters look bright during the day. I really struggle to film in winter here, so grey and rainy here.

I love the track pad. I own a 2021 is300 and it makes driving and working tech smooth and easy. And no fingerprints!!!

I have a 2014 IS 350 and I love it! It is crazy that they haven't updated the exterior, but you can't beat how fun it is to drive!

Catching up on some of your older videos, and this one in particular caught my eye, as I had an original-generation IS300. Straight-six, five-speed manual, limited slip differential, Ecsaine seats. It was easily the best gas car I've ever had. I am an EV-only guy now, though... I really wish Lexus and Toyota would get their act together on the EV front. My Lexus experience was a great one, and I'd love to repeat it, but can't consider them until they offer a truly great EV. I'm at least glad to see them again making an IS300 that seems to be a driver's car, just as the original one was.

The base IS300 optioned out, would be my pick. I think Lexus absolutely nailed the looks and unique colour options on this car. And with that legendary motor and transmission combo… plus AWD!?!? Easy decision. Quite possibly the best compact-to-mid size luxury vehicle that you can buy (factoring in resale, maintenance, quality and most importantly… reliability!). Thanks for the video.
