DEKRA at the UNECE Inland Transport Committee’s 86th session

DEKRA was present at the United Nations Office in Geneva from 20 to 23 February 2024 to participate in the 86th session of the Inland Transport Committee (ITC).

The ITC is the United Nations platform for inland transport to help efficiently address global and regional needs in inland transport. Over the last 77 years, together with its subsidiary bodies, the ITC has provided an intergovernmental forum, where the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and United Nations Member States come together to forge tools for economic cooperation and negotiate and adopt international legal instruments on inland transport. These legal instruments are considered indispensable for developing efficient, harmonized, and integrated, safe and sustainable inland transport systems.

This year session focused on the ambitious climate action that needs to be taken to move towards decarbonized inland transport by 2050.
