Guyana and Suriname, the Caribbean’s newest oil-rich states, plan to develop their natural gas resources together. With the help of Trinidad and Tobago, which has been selling natural gas for years and is now capitalising on shortfalls emerging from the Ukraine/ Russia crisis, the three countries could be able to save the wider Caribbean region from the sheer mercy of other nations.
