Enigma State - Echoes of Silence

Enigma State is a project from Manchester-based Nathan Stealey. The E.S. concept rolls back the clock to the pre-VST days when Trance producers used hardware to create their music. It was a different world back then, and the classic instruments, FX, sequencers and production tricks employed by Nathan create a particular ‘sound’ which is synonymous with late nineties trance.

We welcome Nathan back to NEON with another helping of 90’s inspired 138 bpm trance music, this time with subtle ‘echoes’ of the classic Gamemaster, courtesy of a neat filmic spoken sample, acidic twittering and some hearty Korg-esque choir pads, This record should please older classic trance fans and also hopefully find an audience among the new trance generation.

This falls as a glimmer of hope to me... just like a few recent The Noble Six releases. A new era of our beloved Trance legacy, which seemed to be lost. Eager to see this become a real trend among the Trance community, and see more tracks with this feeling getting released.

Very atmospheric and powerful track.
For me, Nathan has become the best composer at the moment, he is one of the few who has absolutely no passing tracks.
Each of his tracks is emotional and nostalgic for those great old school trance days.
A great track, a perfect mix of modern and classic trance.

… Many thought “true” trance was dead. Wow! This is what I missed. Thanks.

Totally out of context but Im really suprised no trance artists remix the late 80s Enigma songs. Just thought about it seeing this artists name.
