That shrinkage is good, it means you have healthy hair

I’m on a hair growth journey. I’ve currently doing 6 month growth challenge. I started with a 3 month protective style (washing my hair on a regular). I took out my protective style in November. There was so much growth/length retention. I was so excited. I’m now in my second 3 month protective style cycle. I’m soooo ready to take my hair down because I want to see the growth. I still have 4 weeks to go in this cycle. I don’t want to take my hair down too soon because I can’t keep my hands out of my hair. When wearing my natural I want to try every style I can think of, especially when I see growth. That’s not good for my hair. I have 10-11 inches of hair (based on my November measurements) and my goal is to get to 14-16 inches before my wedding in July. Discipline is key. Thanks for the video. I may do twist from March-June.

My hair goals for this year is to:
•Maximize my moisture retention and and say bye to dehydrated hair for good.
•Retain as much length as I can by trimming knots and splits as soon as they appear
• Low tension hair styles
•Healthy Scalp and coils
• Staying consistent with a solid hair care regime.

“When you think you need more product, you need more water” that was my biggest lesson I learned TODAY lol.

This is the first video I’ve seen from your channel and it’s good to see someone else do the steps I do for my hair. I always feel like. I gotta do the most for my thick hair lol. But great hair takes times

I absolutely love this video. I am a hairstylist and the detail and openness about even your back hurting is appreciated because the body does go through it when hair is being dealt with. Also your hair looks fantastic. I am going to try the Rosewater method.

i’ve been on my hair growth journey since 2021 and ever since then, I started protective styling with my own hair and my hair has been flourishing, wash n gos and mini twists are my go to’s . they both require little to no manipulation to maintain and it has helped me retain so much length.

I'm on a waist length journey as well, 4a and 4b curls here. I've started 4 years ago and when straight, it's mid back, curly, it lays abundantly on my shoulders. I want it to be curly and chilling in my hip bones so that'll probably be another 6 years (giving myself more time bc I'd rather be pleasantly surprised). I stay on twists and braids, I'm trying to transition into more wash n go's and I've switched most of my wardrobe so that I wear silk or satin, so my hair doesn't break off from friction with the cotton. Satin scrunchies and bonnets are a must and I do eat healthy, work out and drink water. I love seeing other ladies in this journey ❤ hope you continue documenting the journey!!!

I have a big ol’ hooded dryer and it is indeed a GAME I’ve been using it for a few years now. I also just got the new (smaller) RevAir for Christmas. I want to try it with twists, exactly as you did! Thanks for the rosemary misting tip!❤

foams are definitely a game changer for my braid outs! i was using pattern beauty’s mousse and although it made my style last very long, my hair felt dry. but now i started cocktailing uncle funky’s daughter curl simulator with a dollop of innersense i create definition foam and my braid out feels so so soft and lasts like 8 days!

I use the blue magic and mix it with virgin hair fertilizer and for my leave in spray I use rosemary clove mint and fenugreek. I also just started using shea butter again I haven’t had a good moisturizer in years and I love it
