My take on the Djamel Sedjati 800 metres run, 1.41'46 (12 July 2024)

Here I (Tanis Leonhardi; she/her/hers; of Seattle) talk through the Djamel Sedjati (of Algeria), 800 metres run race at the 2024 Wanda Diamond League meet in Monaco, Monaco (time of 1 minute and 41.46 seconds in the final on Friday 12 July 2024). With his time he achieved a personal best time, an Algeria record, and first place. I provide my take/perspective on his performance and contextualize it in terms of him being the only runner in the race faster than 1 minute and 42 seconds as well as his successive time drops (personal best times) in this event in Paris, France, on Sunday 7 July 2024 (1 minute and 41.56 seconds) followed by this race on Friday 12 July 2024.
