I didn’t have insurance when I got my diagnosis for terminal cancer. My social worker said that they signed me up for disability which then automatically qualifies me for Medicaid. They told me it would cost me nothing for the hospital bills and for hospice. I started looking on YouTube and many people are saying that they will put a lien on my house? How dies this work?

If you are on original Medicare, your "100% Hospice coverage" does not include room and board in an inpatient facility.... typically around $6, 000 a month. You forgot to say that. That is why most people end up dying at home with their family members responsible for their day to day care. Hospice just pays for drugs, some durable equipment and an occasional hospice nurse visit or someone to occassionaly help you take a shower. If you want 24 hour a day medical supervision in a dedicated hospice inpatient facility.... you will pay for that yourself. Unless some charity steps up or perhaps if you are destitute and on Medicaid.
