Billys death is one of the darkest moments that show skims over and never tries to dive into.

Sadly Billy was only strong in youth while his old age sapped him of his strength, and the Lich was technically beaten time and time again but could never be put down…so well, alas, Billy was just prime possession material by that point.

It sucks too cuz Finn was learning some pretty sweet techniques and tricks from the original OG hero and was also maturing at an incredible rate…but…yeah…

Prismo doesn't even hesitate to tell Finn and Jake upon meeting them, "Hey, hey! Did you guys see that? You know that was a ghost wearing a dead guy? That might be the nastiest thing I've ever seen."

i can only assumed lich ate him inside out as he was literally a skin suit for him in later episodes. That train of thought alone is downright disturbing.

I think that lich killed Billy from inside, cuz in the bucket list of Billy we see: eat thr lich

Yeah I always assumed the Lich skinned him. Considering Billy foiled his plans so many times it was probably personal...

Imagine being a primordial being that existed before time then getting kicked in the face by a giant blue dude and then years later getting beat the f*** up by a little boy wearing a bear hat.

the lich became a skin walker 💀, also the fact that billy withstand the lich when he was “young”, but yeah he was kinda old when the lich appeared

Billy's death was probably much more painful than your theory suggests, because c'mon, this is the lich we're talking about, I don't think he has the heart to kill his biggest enemy in a way that's not painful to his standards

Tbh the lich is terrifying up until you realise they're a cosmic entity, abd there's no fighting a cosmic entity, just piss it off till you die

Like watching this as a Kid, it made me sad that Billy actually died and was defeated by the Demon that he once defeated, and seeing him making another Appearance as a Star Spirit talking to Finn that his Biological Father is still alive.

I think what happened is shown in the show he litterally burrows into Billy's chest and consumes him from the inside out.

I think when someone is posessed by the lich, their body begins to reflect his true nature. Like with farmworld jake, he ended up getting the lich's face and horns

So the litch got his powers and body back found billy and tore him open emptying out all his organs and flesh and skeleton and wore his skin as a costume to fool Finn and Jake till something happened for the litch to apear like billys half was burnt down to his skeleton then the litch was nothing but a skeleton till he got yellow skin and was just a big ass hand spread through out the infinite multiverse

I have a question. How did princess bublegum know that the lich was inside billy, even before one of the guardians of the candy kingdom shot him and revealed a part of the lich?
