Depends. Is John just randomly thrown into a sudden death match with the T-800? If so he definitely loses. His standard gear just doesn't have the AP necessary to do any real damage. But I think the much more interesting scenario is if we put him into Sarah Connors shoes. Make him the Terminators primary target and they each have to try and find out how to kill each other. I would watch the shit out of that movie.

The biggest advantage Wick would have is actually adaptability. A deleted T2 scene showed that Terminators like the T-800 had a chip that limited their ability to learn and adapt to prevent any from adapting into a threat to Skynet. If Wick learned that the Terminator was a machine and had such a limitation, he would start getting creative.

*Not sure which version of Terminator you're pointing out here. But even the speed goes to the T-800, they can run about as fast as a moving vehicle. The later versions that came after T-800 are far more efficient*
